Attendance and Make Up Policy

In order to create the ideal work environment for our students, the Sharron Art Center tries to make attendance as consistent as possible. We understand that students may be involved with other extracurricular activities, but art performance may decrease for students who constantly miss or change classes. If the number of students in a classroom keeps shifting, the time the instructor devotes to each student will also reflect the changes.

  • Make up classes can be scheduled online in your account at: www.sharronartcenter.com/log-in
  • If a student shows up for a make up class without scheduling in advance, we reserve the right to deny the student a spot in the class. No exceptions.
  • Once a make up class is scheduled, it cannot be rescheduled whether the student is present or not. That class will be considered void. No exceptions.
  • Beginning Spring 2016, make up classes are NOT transferable to other semesters. Any absences or anticipated absences must be made up during the same semester only.
  • Make up classes cannot be “split” or made up “partially.”
  • Students who are late cannot make up for the missed time by staying later.
  • If there is a break time between classes, students must either wait in the waiting room or be picked up by the parent. The instructor and the Sharron Art Center is not responsible and will not look after students during this break period.
  • Any unused make up classes will not be refunded, transferred as credit, or given to siblings of the student.

Student Health and Well Being

  • We value your questions and concerns, but please refrain from asking during the class session. We want to make sure that each student gets enough time and attention from the instructors, so please wait until after class to ask any questions. Alternatively, you can also choose to email the instructor.
  • If the student has any allergies or medical conditions, you must inform the instructor before the beginning of the semester. During holidays and special occasions, some teachers may provide treats for the students during class; please let the instructor know of any food allergies.
  • Students must be picked up on time. Instructors are not responsible for the child after their scheduled class time and the student cannot stay in the classroom. If the parent/guardian will be late for emergency purposes, please contact the instructor.
  • Many younger students may get their clothes dirty and wet during class. If you foresee such situations, please place a change of clothes inside their drawing bag.
  • Before and after the students’ scheduled lessons, and during break time, Sharron Art Center and the landlord of the facilities will NOT be held responsible for any physical harm done to the students and guardians inside or outside on the premises.
  • Do not take art lessons in another drawing studio. Multiple instructors’ teaching methods may be contradicting and confusing to the student and can actually hinder their art education.
  • All the above school rules are not only positive enhancements to the organization of the Sharron Art Center; they are also present for the well-being of students, parents, guardians, and instructors. Please help the Sharron Art Center provide an organized curriculum, trouble-free facility, and a fun-filled art education for your children.
